    Okay Digital Point junkies,

There's still tons of information going on in the press about Ron Paul. He's hosting a convention that's going to rival the GOP convention in terms of the amount of people in attendance.

There's rumors that a state attorney has filed a lawsuit that will force Barrack Obama from the race.

I.O.U.S.A. came out and was a smash hit.

Here's the question - What chances, if any, does Ron Paul have of winning the election? I've added a poll.

    1. There is not tons of information about Ron Paul in the press. There wasn't even when he was competing for the Republican nomination.

    2. His convention will not rival the GOP convention in anyway.

    3. Obama will not be forced from the race.

Oh yeah, and Ron Paul has no chance of becoming the next President of the United States.

Unfortunately the power structure is not ready to turn control over to the american people. What kind of blasphemy would this be if we were an actual transparent government of the people???? They will have another 4 to 8 years of these talking head puppets before all of america wakes up.

I saw some blog about a disgruntled Hillary Clinton supporter trying to get BO from the race...im trying to find the link but it didn't look very reliable.

Awe, poor you. I have no patience for people like you who think they have no control with their own votes. If your guy doesn't get nominated it is all some big conspiracy and a rigged system. It must be a sad way to go through life.

Brown, all you have to do is check out who is supporting both candidates. Special interest groups are. How many special interest groups supported ron paul? and how many times have we seen a president give lip service and promise change only to do exactly what the special interest groups want. Ron Paul isnt "my guy" he is the only guy that truely represents the will of the masses here in america and common sense in a world where the elite just keep getting us into unjustified wars based on lies. Who was the only candidate that spoke the whole truth about mossadegh and iran?

Not the puppets obama or mccain(who stood there on the podium with that retarded smirk on his face while paul was talking). I respect many of your views but i gotta respectfully disagree on this one, and this is based on my knowledge of post ww2 history and the warnings good ole IKE gave us.

The power base is in the hands of a few that dont really represent our views and (like in roman times) what i learned is power will never be reliquinshed easily and often comes ata great cost. Just a bunch of brutases out there.

Just ask yourself who was the only candidate that has a perfect voting record and never flip-flopped on his views and beliefs when it came time to vote and is free from special interest control. It certainly isnt obama or mccain.

You think browntwn cares about any such thing as "Special Interest Groups" ? Damn no... Ron Paul represents Freedom, Hope, and Liberty, one of the very few bipartisan leaders around, truely patriotic, objective in his vision, unbiased.... How could such a man be allowed to win? that is why, Ron Paul has to be opposed.

Ron Paul wanted to stymie the military-industrial complex, and bring the American economy back into the green, give back power to th people, curb the police state, give people the power to decide their future... It was all too much. He never had a chance. :sigh:

I am an American. Are you?

If not, then what by what reason are you telling me and other American's what to do? It is our decision and we did not vote for Ron Paul. Get over it.

Why should anyone think that you have America's Interest at heart - when it is clear to me you do not?

The fact that Ron Paul was supported by every Anti-American bigot on this forum provided plenty of additional reason to oppose him, if one of the myriad of other reasons were not enough.

That is because we do not live in a democracy. The US is a representative republic.

I just read Ron Paul's book and I like some of his ideas.

But, he doesn't come off as being anywhere near as radical as his supporters obviously are. What would make you guys think that any president could do the things that you think Ron Paul would do for the country? Ron Paul doesn't even make that claim. He merely points out what has gone wrong with the system. A president does not have the power in invoke radical change unless he has a majority behind him in Congress. Electing one guy does nothing to further your ideals.

Ron Paul is a strict Constitutionalist, which means that he understands that the president does not have the power to do the things that you think he would do as president.

I assume the poll was referencing the vote for 2008. He won't win the GOP nomination and he won't run as an independent (or come close to winning if he tried).

He does have a chance, depending upon how things go, to make some noise in 2012.

"IOUSA" was a smash hit? It did $65,000 on its opening weekend.

It's as big of a smash hit as Ron Paul is.

You have to have your head in the sand to think that he stands a chance at all. He isn't even first place in the Republican candidate losers... If Obama and McCain both die of heart attacks tomorrow, he still wouldn't stand a chance.
