I would like to know more info about prweb.com. Can I just create an account and start submitting my own press releases? Will they publish all of them? If it works the way I think it works, isn't prweb and easy way to attract visitors to your site?
Yes. Yes - if they pass editorial review. Stick with their guidelines and answer who, what, how, where, when. Potentially - Just because folks may read the release doesn't mean it will interest them enough to visit your site or "pick it up" (republish it in another medium).
I got some great results from it, I did pay for the basic level to get published asap. I seem to remember some people here point some of their Co-op ads towards their release, to add a little weight to it!!
I have used it and it is a nice system. I did not pay to speed up publication but I did get a few hits. Then again if my release was more interesting I guess I would have got a lot more hits from it. Give it a try.
there is a nice list at http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Press_Release_Services/
I'm sure it's a nice list, and no offense intended, but I'd rather not take recommendations from a DMOZ editor, if you know what I mean.
http://www.prleap.com/ is another option although I think PRWeb is the most effective service that I have used.
PR releases are amazing tools to generate traffic, and perhaps some links. But you need to remember that a release should be newsworthy and well written.
I use a company to write up my Press Release - They were really cheap - only $100.00 - I've searched everywhere and alot of sites are charging 200.00 and up. I received my press release within 2 days and I received a Top Score through Prweb. I'm listed on yahoo news. Check it out: http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/prweb/20050210/bs_prweb/prweb207011_1 I think Press Releases are great! I'm going to check out PRlead too. Vicky ps... if you want the name of the firm that wrote up my pr let me know. ____________________ Bad Credit Mortgages and Free Debt Consolidation Quote
Yes it is worth the time and effort. I have received over 2 million reads from my articles and it has produced a lot of new real estate clients. IMHO if you have something that consumers are interested in, it is well worth the effort and cost to submit. In order for your articles to be picked up by the other newswires you must have an editorial score of 4 or more. Also try to keep the article no more than 450 words total.
Prweb.com grades your press release if it's 4 and over - you get to be listed in alot more media outlets. Prweb.com highest grade is a 5. _______________________ Bad Credit Mortgages and Free Debt Consolidation Quote
PRWeb is also v useful if you have a completely new site and want it spidered fast. MSN will pick you up within 24 hours. Of course, G is a lot slower.... Another plus is say you add a new range of products and want to make sure they get spidered fast. Put out a press release about the new range and point links at the new pages rather than just your domain top. It can also get you places where you never thought you would get just coz you don't know who might pick up the story. This is a good thing as it gives you great instant IBLs. Worth doing and worth forking out some cash for.
PRWEB.com is the only PR tool I've used and it's provided good results. Obviously, for the full effect to take place it has to be a good story, so take time to write a informative release, and I highly recommend paying the $30 (£16) to get your article listed in Google and Yahoo news. Why pay a PR company hundreds, when you can do it yourself..
