I was hesitant to post this article, as I originally thought no one could be interested but exact opposite proved to be true. The article got popular, many people appreciate it and it's been listed on top of "Most Requested" articles on GoArticles for several days. I'm getting nice traffic as result and it's been going on for days. Sure enough, it will eventually die off, as Olympic Games theme is currently hot, but just thought I'd motivate some of you who are looking for traffic - sometimes the most treasured secrets are where you elast expect them. You'd be surprised what people find interesting. Writing captivating articles may go a whole lot further than going for keyword rich, hard to read, blatantly search engine optimized ones. Good luck to you all, don't give up and I hope to see one of your articles at the top soon Welcome to Beijing Lyrics - English Translation of Official Song of 2008 Olympics
why would you think about it not being popular right now? the top searches for the next 2 weeks are about beijing. I have writen a few articles about beijing and gotten good traffic from it
I have no doubt Beijing Olympics is a popular topic right now, I just didn't think the particular thing my article was covering would be of much interest. I was proven wrong and am benefiting from it with some nice traffic GoArticle is sending me. The point I was trying to make was that sometimes you get a lot out of an article you think would never be popular. And I hope it encourages other webmasters to think and go outside of the box with their articles as sometimes it can prove invaluable.
I've done similar articles about people big in the news. I get TONS of article views from it...I'm talking 6,000+. However, the traffic didn't really do anything for me. It didn't convert to anything that paid much money. The article traffic is great, but just remember what the goal is.
Can't say for ajbarnes, surely Michael Phelps is currently one of the most talked about people. I get about 100 uniques a day from GoArticles (direct click through) - you could say that's nothing to brag about, but I'm happy and grateful for every single surfer I get to my site. My article has been listed under "Most Requested" on main page for almost a week now so it's been a nice increase of daily traffic. I've just started with article submissions so right now I have 3 articles published. Two of them I believed were strong, well done articles. This one I thought was pretty week and I was hesitating to publish it. Obviously, I've learned something about people who come to article directories such as GoArticles I didn't know before and will keep it in mind when writing new articles
