It show DMOZ logo and attribution to DMOZ and it even has link to editor application, so I suppose it can be listed in DMOZ as one of the DMOZ clones.

I was surprised to see Google ads in there mixed with porn sites, doesn't adsense have TOS against that?

Wholesale porn too, plus nothing stopping any kid from getting in to this resource!

MySpace got hit with a $30 million dollar lawsuit today, it was in the national news!

    Proud indeed.

If you drill down into the categories, you even get a nice thumbnail, all nicely gilted in the DMOZ respectability wrapper.

That shit is sick, the descriptions are designed by those who submit them to drive traffic to affiliate sites, a high school kid could see that, let alone webmasters that have been around.

The descriptions are suppose to be written by editors and be original. ;)

But as we all know, the poor adult DMOZ editors are working day and night for free to provide Internet users with best affiliate doorway pages there is.
Can you imagine how difficult it is to find 100 of pages from one site that has no home page or navigational menu and therefore not accessible to anyone in public, just so they can listed in DMOZ?

With MySpace under assault and the government coming down on sexual predators working with a Prime Time show like Dateline NBC you would figure that AOL and Google would cut their losses and move on before the lawsuits fly their way!

There is really no reason for AOL to maintain this database while at the same time selling porn filtering software to parents, they are going to get hit with class action lawsuits in the 100's of millions of dollars soon!

I am not sure what the point of this thread is. Yes there is porn on the internet, yes dmoz does have a adult sections, and that adult data is included in the rdf dump. Oh yeah, sites can use that data if they want. Even if they are in France.

I guess it will crystallize for you if you spend some time reading the other threads in the DMOZ forum here, but get ready to spend some time reading, if you do you will see the history and the future of DMOZ.

I didn't expect you to understand it. I also know full well by now that it's futile to try to explain it to you.

To be honest, I'm not sure what minstrel is driving at either...

It's a DMOZ clone that uses the Adult section of the rdf dump. And?

I'm not posting or starting threads with any hope whatsoever that DMOZ editors will understand, nor do I care at all whether or not they understand.

If you don't get it, you don't get it. Frankly, I no longer give a damn. This is aimed at the people who may still care and have a hope of getting it. You've already made up your minds. Enjoy.

Your mind was made up and closed down tight a long time ago, neb. I'm not asking you to understand. I'm not even asking you to read it.

First, it's all about disgruntled webmasters, because who else would criticize DMOZ? Then it's all about some imagined personal vendetta against DMOZ, because why else would anyone criticize your precious directory? Now apparently you think you'll try to smokescreen people by alleging it's all about the 50 cents a year I might make from posting at DigitalPoint.

Don't you think that's a little lame, even for you?
