Keyword phrases using quotes and brackets?

    Hi,

I've been adding multiple keyword phrases in my AdWords campaigns and read somewhere that I should double-quote and bracket these phrases as well for better performance. Does this really work or will Google slap me for adding so many variations of the same keyword phrases?

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Exact and phrase match have their uses. Simply adding various match types to an account won't get you "slapped".

Brackets and variations of bracketed words will not get slapped by google. It'll limit the amount of traffic that will actually see your ad by only showing the exact phrase within the bracket, as you know, but there is no penalty for using this method.

If someone were else were to see my adwords account, they'd probably think that I use too many variations with brackets...rather than typing a couple of key words without the brackets, but I'm in the firm belief that you can never over target your audience.

yes its a good practice to use Keyword variations for phrase and exact keywords. It helps reduce your ad campaign budget and bring more targeted visitors.
