Shawn, Rid these RIDICULOUS Infractions

I have received three infraction points from bumping a thread of mine:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=973328#post973328

MOST of the bumps have a time difference of 24 hours, and on top of that, the last post was made because I finally received an offer on the domain.

Shawn, this little infraction system is ridiculous IMO, at least the ones I have been receiving. Any time I make a reply to my own thread, or bump it up respectfully (usually 24 hours after last post), I get an infraction.

I don't want to stand for this anymore.

Why should keep bumping for 3-4 days when no one is interested??

Wow out of the 10 posts in there only 2 of them were from other people :p

I think what you could've done was just let it die, and if someone asked just a) ignore them or b) tell them it's sold.

You could've asked a moderator to edit the thread and close it as well , like i did with my sale site

It's possible if they are doing it to just run up their post count. For example, if someone comes along and copy/pastes the exact same message into 50 threads. A good rule of thumb is if your entire post is a copy/paste of your previous one, it's probably not needed.

Shawn, if I want something to sell I'm going to either a) Bump it respectfully or b) Create a duplicate thread - there's no doubt about that dude.

If something needs to be sold it's going to be bumped so others can see it...nobody searches the threads because of vBulletin's horrible search function, which I did make a suggestion about that here.

Why Would Anyone get Intrested if u Bump your threads.

I really feel irritating and it looks like someone is talking to himself.
You ur self are admitting that u will bump ur threads and also telling that u don't want an infraction.

    lol :)

As Shawn pointed out bumping is not allowed, whether you think it's "respectfully" or not.

Well then all 13k users have broken that rule, Summer...even you with that Michael thread. You may not say "bump" as neither do I in any of my threads, but you are still doing the act of bumping.

If you are selling something that needs to be sold, there should be no need for you to bump the thread. If there is genuine interest, other users will keep your thread alive.

What about the other people who are selling that get knocked down the sales forum from your useless 'respectful' bumping of the same thread over and over again for something nobody wants?

And given that statement, I expect you won't remain on the forums for very long.

    Keep bumping. ;)

You can also use your signature to advertise your product instead of bumping it
