Squidoo pages are called `lenses.` They provide loads of useful help and tuition on their site.

Don`t just rely on the Search Engines to get noticed. Once your lens is up and running get other lensmasters to rate yours, add it to their favorites, add comments about your lens, lensroll it, join groups etc. And of course, make sure you do the same for others.

When done correctly hubpages are great but it all comes down to the value of the content you post and how popular the topic is. Earlier this year I created a hubpage (hubpages.com/hub/Wii-Balance-Board-Games) for Wii Balance Board Games. After this latest Google update, the page is now PR4 and sends loads of traffic to my Wii Balance Board Games Blog (wiibalanceboardgames.com) which I created in April and is now PR3.

 

Debmart, have you done the squidoo thing too? Which was more effective for you?

 

Squidoo was penalized by google due to spam, but hubpages have more strict duplicate content check and article scoring system. also Hubpages can help you earn money inmore ways that Squidoo does

 

When I started looking at ways to promote my blog I did consider Squidoo but felt that hubpages' stricter submission/ranking criteria made it less susceptible to spam (eugie17's comment seems to confirm that) and therefore a better choice in terms of its SEO benefits. That said, I still want to try Squidoo as I do feel that when done right, Squidoo could work as well.

 

I suggest you read my article "Squidoo VS HubPages, which one is better?". Actually both will benefit you. They are good places to socialize, and get people to read what you want to share on the internet.

The main difference is that, Squidoo allowed porn contents (Google doesn't like it) and No external links limitation as compared to HubPages. If you're on affiliate marketing site. Squidoo is good for you.

In term of publishing tools. One can learn to publish a Web Page in HubPages easier than Squidoo.

Join both, you have nothing to lose.

I suggest using Hubpages that link to wordpress blog, that link to squidoo that link to blogspot that again link to hubpages.
That way you create ring of links and your backlinks look more realistic (and probably have more value) to SE.
