This website was built to target quite an interesting niche market - extended auto warranties. It's a high profit industry and consequently there is good money to be earnt through adsense and warranty company affiliate programs.

The idea behind the site was to build a mini content resource that would eventually get natural search engine traffic but that could also be monetized through Adwords. This is why I made a site rather than a one page sales letter as is often the case with Adwords affiliate marketing.

Adwords

I tried a basic Adwords test on June 7th and these were the results:
Number of Adwords clicks: 9 - $8.33
Money Made Through Adsense: $3.56
Money Made Through Affiliate Program: $8.00
Total Profit: $11.56 - $8.33 = $3.23

My aim with Adwords was to use Adsense to pay for some of the cost of the Adwords campaigns and make the profit through the affiliate program which pays $8.00 per lead. All your visitors have to do is fill in a free no obligation form for an extended warranty quote. If Adwords is optimized these figures will obviously be able to be improved upon.

Search Engines

The site received its first natural search query from the search engines on June 13th. The search engine was MSN, the query was "auto warranty reviews" (page 2) and this visitor generated $1.75 through Adsense. When building the site my aim was for it to compete with another extended warranty resource which has several good positions in all of the search engines (if interested pm me for the details as I don't want to post that site in the thread) - The Adwords test proved that you don't need many visitors to make a decent profit (9 visitors equalled $11.56 earnings) and so I would suggest that ongoing seo would be a worthwhile time investment into this site.

To become successful the site therefore needs two things:

1. Link building to get natural traffic - I've started the ball rolling by getting a few inbound links (iwebtool predicted PR = 3)

2. Some time spent testing and optimizing Adwords - the buyer can have details of the keywords I used for the Adwords test...it was very basic.


Why am I selling.

I'm becoming much more interested in researching markets and then building sites to target niches. This doesn't include the promotion part - having to walk each site through to its successful conclusion takes too much of my time. My aim is to build sites and set them on the right road for others to successfully establish which allows me the freedom to research and build.
