As well as the site jdR!pper gave, the actual PHP.net Online documentation can actually be helpful on some topics, such as Object Oriented Programming (that topic's a bit advanced for you if you're just learning the basics though), where the trouble was taken to write long explanations. If you do decide to go out and buy a book (it really is a good idea, so long as you get a good quality book, not one that's a little cheaper and no-one's ever heard of), I'd suggest an O'reilly book - Learning PHP and MySQL. It's about $30 on amazon usa, maybe cheaper elsewhere, and it really is quite useful, I bought it for my Sister to stop her going on about how boring I was doing this, and she still liked the book and learnt quite quick.
