Hi our community has grown to over 5000 members in 3 months. Its a forum based around topics that effect everyday life, hobbies, debates, technology, sports etc and i was looking to have "social network" type feel to the site where members could customise there profiles, add youtube videos etc to it plus friends and info about themselves. Check out www.whatsyourview.net and let me know what you think?
Excellent job getting members! I am jealous =P ... There are over 300 members viewing the Media Lounge at once .. i would recommend you expand it.
I highly doubt anything close to 4,500 of those accounts are real. You have 15,700 pages index with google - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site:http://www.whatsyourview.net&btnG=Search Your site has a page rank of 2 A lot of your "members" have numbers in their names, which most real people do not use. You have 24 backlinks registered with google - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=link:www.whatsyourview.net&start=10&sa=N&filter=0 out of those 24, there are only about 3 different domains listed A search for just the domain name returns 5,880 results - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=www.whatsyourview.net&btnG=Search The ratio of total members to total threads and total post is out of proportion. With 5,000 members you should be getting about 800 - 1,000 post per day. Quantcast does not have any information about your site - http://www.quantcast.com/whatsyourview.net This means very few sites are linking to you and your site is not linking to others. You have the search feature disabled for guest, so I can not see how many post you get a day - http://www.whatsyourview.net/search.php?do=getdaily You also have "Active members" disabled in your site stats. Meaning guest can not see how many members every 30 days. You have 61 members visiting every 24 hours - that does not reflect anywhere close to a total membership of 5,000. All this means your site does not have enough links, indexed pages, traffic or anything else to equal over 5,000 members.
Wow ~kev~, could I set you up to break my board to pieces? PS - to the OP, I'm not a big fan of high contrasting colors, it was a bit too harsh on my eyes. However still impressive - considering number of posts in relation to the age of the board.
im rumbled lol no im sorry pal, i was an admin of 3 forums before this and ive always kept in contact and kept emails etc so its just a matter of emailing members about my new forum. I had a couple of "dodgy" sites before this and with this one being not dodgy i want to promote and put a lot of work in to it. Being a trusting and honest admin brings a faithful following and thats what ive built up and thats why members will take the time to register on my forums. Ive also promised that this site is here for good, others have been taken done etc but this won't and they are understood that im a man of my word and that will be the case also can i add that some links will never be found by google for different reasons and linkbacks and SEO isn't the only thing that brings success, it counts no doubt but their is other means.
Hi Foxy, Great site very well organized and good layout. Thump's Up for you. All the best and keep moving.
Very nice forum first of all! If I had to give any negative comment it would be at the amount of white that is used. There seems as if there should be more of a definitive line between each Forum. JMHO
