Hello everyone, I created Apmart.com in June. I intend to make it a big site for people to buy and trade online. At the moment I don't have such system so I'm showing listing from eBay using WordPress. I wish to gain some feedback from kindheart digitalpoint fellows. The site is already having PageRank 4, but it is still under development at the control end. Making a new listing is very easy, however I'm stuck with ideas of how to organize the listing logically and user friendly. It's totally not well formed so I'm wishing to see more feedback from other people on this issue. Let's say currently I added a few posts like: - Used Cars Under $4000 - Used Cars Under $4000 - Used Cars Under $5000 - Cars Under $1000 All of those posts are under Cars category with the URL http://apmart.com/cars/ This category is displayed as the page Cars & Truck. You can notice the 2 diffirent link locations this make. I dislike the Pages navigation displaying both informational pages and auction listing pages without any clearification. But I still can't think of how to separate them because they both are pages. But I don't want to make a parent page to group them up because that will lead to the URL being lengthened. Example for information about the site: - apmart.com/site/about/ - apmart.com/site/guide/ Examples for auction listings - apmart.com/auctions/cars/cars-under-1000 - apmart.com/auctions/cars/cars-under-2000 - apmart.com/auctions/games/nintendo-wii Do you think separating the pages using parent pages is GOOD IDEA? I also dislike the way WordPress display links to categories at the moment. For the same way as pages, I could separate the news (blog) and the auctions into 2 parents category and make new subcategories. But I still think that's a bad idea because it will creat longer URLs. But on the other hand, clearly separating the type of posts/pages makes it possible to extend the site in the future without too much trouble. So it should'nt be tha bad of an idea after all. But I'm unable to decide by myself, so I wish someone here can pass me some opinions to solve the problem. I'd love to hear crictics, so let's trade. For every pair of uniquely accepted critic+solution I will review your site in return of favour. If I can't review, I will link to it from one of my blog. So what do you say? If you have some suggestion about the business model, then please reply here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=952467 Regards, Binh Nguyen
