Am I going to be banned?? Email from them...

Ok, I just got this email...well more like a warning:

I emailed them this morning when I first caught wind of it. I noticed I had about 45 impressions to my url and about 20 clicks. I automatically knew something was wrong and told them something was wrong with my stats. About an hour and a half later(time in email says 10:30am) I got that letter and no response from them to the email I first sent them....unless that was their response. I did not read their letter until 4:30pm.

I am not using any incentives to get people to my site. I think someone is just messing with my site. The only advertising I use is adwords and some manual traffic exchanges. I do not use pay to surfers and readers and the like. i pulled my site from the couple traffic exchanges and I don't know what else I can do. I pulled the adsense ads off the pages that were getting those clicks too.

So, does this pretty much mean I am going to be banned? It is not fair if someone is doing this stuff to my site. :(

Seems like this started when I joined seo forums and discussed my site. Some people are just plain mean!

The fact that you notified them of the unusual impression/click ration probably will save you. Monitor your site very carefully and if you see anything again contact Google immediately.

That's just a canned email from them, they'll respond to your email with a real response usually within a couple of days.

It's a pre-written email they send out when they see some abnormal activity. You will get a personal response in the next couple of days to the email you sent them.

sandyfeet, did you get a payment from google atleastonce ?
if so then there's nothing wrong with this letter...if you were not paid atleast once, the'd have cancelled your account straign way...not given any warnings.

they are more tolerant toward publishers who have got atleast one check...

I dont think the email was in response to the mail you sent them. I takes 1-2 days atleast for Google to respond to mails.

I would suggest that you dont use a traffic exchange or any other traffic scheme to generate pageviews in the future.

Simple. I meant that you shouldnt post your url on forums like these.

Edit: just look at the problems for instance Shawn has with people stealing his identity Why? They're jealous, he's publicly telling people how much he earns and how much money he has. See http://www.winn-and-sims.com/. It's just begging for trouble. It's basically the same.

Well, I've sent this question to AdSense support and they say not.

Here's the e-mail in question (the one that I've sent to them):

That's exactly what happened to me...some loser clicked on my site in sig (he came from DP, I traced him through statcounter.com)..I had 1 unique user and 8 clicks...mailed google right away, and they send me exact emails as you have...not banned yet..I switched to clicksor for now...watch out for that asshole who purposely mass clicks on ads. Im in process of identifying his IP.

    tayiper,

Like most publishers I too rechecked my sites online to see whether things were in order like fonts, colors, ads placements, etc.

Your email to Google and their reply are most helpful to me (and the others too) but I'm still wondering whether the figure for page impression would be inflated by my action.

Thanks a lot to you and the others who had made this forum very useful.
