There was quite a long persistent rumors on this for months. So far no concrete news on the purchase of Digg. I really don't see anyone shelling out $200 million for DIGG. Don't really think it is worth it.

True it is pocket money, but it is also share holders' money. They will need to have sufficient justifications.

Oooh thats great news.... only time will tell... of course the big G certainly can buy Digg... but, thats only a possibility. Time will tell I guess...

The site is not worth 200m. Most readers are "techies" and I'm sure they rarely get clicks on their Google Adsense. Then again, it's not like they host a bunch of images or files so I'm sure the server costs are low.

thanks to tell me about this news (rumor) i was certainly not knowing but buying digg is waste. DIgg is used mostly be webmaster do not click on ads.

Dude!! Why YouTube can be $1.6 Billion.. Why can't Digg be $200 Millions??? Digg is worth even more than that!! Maybe around 300-500$.

Do you have the financial figures to justify the 300-500 million? I would be keen to know that as from what I know Digg isn't really making big money. Such price tags aren't easy to justify.
