Yahoo announced a settlement agreement with proxy contest leader, Carl Icahn, today. Icahn is the billionaire corporate activist who has been trying to pressure Yahoo into selling to Microsoft Corporation and overthrow Yahoo's board of directors - including co-founder, Jerry Yang. The settlement agreement essentially states that Carl Icahn will withdraw the proxy battle, and after the August 1st annual board meeting, will be given a seat on the Yahoo board along with two other new members from his dissident slate of proposed members. Ican has no experience running an internet business but anyway, it's good for him to keep his mouth shut.. Yang will never be fired... Some major shareholders still support the 10-man board.
