Maybe he is just having a nap . But at this moment of time, I wouldn't be too comfortable in his seat. With his own board being challenged by strong external stakeholders and with Microsoft blessings for his competitors. Tough luck. Also with vultures like Google surrounding him.........
Maybe he was thinking of why not sell to Microsoft during the MS first offer which is substantially higher if I remembered correctly. The third offer may be lower than 33 for all we know.
It is a very bitter pill to swallow, Microsoft and Google are the nemesis of Yahoo. I guess Jerry feels that Google is the lesser of the two evils. Still it would be extremely painful....
Wow, they look like good friends. Microsoft wants to continue their tradition by eliminating competition. By buying yahoo. I hope Google and yahoo tie up real good.
Google tie up with Yahoo isn't simple, there is still quite a few anti trust barriers to overcome which I expect Microsoft to make full use of.
http://blogs.reuters.com/mediafile/files/2008/07/yang-head-down-2.jpg He is thinking: "hey cant you keep still for a moment....I am trying to talk business with two men here."
Larry Page and Sergey Brin are telling Jerry Yang that Google is going to lower Yahoo's PageRank until a sale is made. Sergey Brin (Right-side) has his fingers and hands in a "pleading position," while Larry Page grabs a pen or pencil with both of his hands in front of the distraught Yang. Yang hasn't felt this violated since the time he was abducted by aliens.
Why didn't I buy google when I had the chance... these two guys would have been working for me boo hoo
Looks like Larry Page has a smile on his face and Sergy has his hands clenched so I'd assume somebody must have made an "off color" joke and Jerry put his head down because he was laughing. The ability to read body langauge is an essential skill in the corporate world and I'd bet my last dollar somebody either told a dirty joke or some gossip or something that would make Jerry put his head down instead of laughing out loud.
