I Googled around for this, but could not find much data. If a product is in your need of services (ie keyword research, domains buying, hosting, software, etc.), would you pay more attention to a blog post or buy the product if the blog recommend the product AND told you that they had a promotion where you could get a free Tshirt, or other free gear it you bought the product?
No, I don't want a ropey t-shirt , I want a good service. When I want a t-shirt I'll go to threadless or urban species or kidrobot or somewhere that sells nice well-designed t-shirts. When I want a domain/hosting/ software - whatever - I'll go to whoever has the best deal to suit my needs. If the offer that's being promoted is beneficial to what I'm actually looking for, it might sway me - i.e a bundled deal of hosting-and-domain or a related piece of software, that kind of thing.
big area really for consumers is discounts on the actual product you are buying so free delivery or other discount code is really a good way to convert.
While all thats all true, and I enjoy the other topics, the question was not on discounts, and service combination... it was on free junk, and from the poll how do you feel you respond when you see offers for free junk.
