$10 Min Bids Are Killing Me. Another Slap Today?

    Hey Guys,

Am getting so sick of this. 3 of my campaigns got hit today with $10 min bids. I had just about redesigned and developed new content for these landing pages since the last slap earlier this year and it got hit again. These are 20 page landing sites with unique content, privacy policy etc...I totally give up on trying to give Google what we think they want.

Just wanna find out if anyone else has been slapped today or is it just my account?

Yes there was, i had 2 domains killed.

One interesting thing, US campaign min bids rose to $1.00 and UK campaign min bids are still .05 with great quality score, go figure... landing page sucks in US and Rocks in UK...

I will call my rep today to see how he will explain this...

    Same. Same. Here.
Killed two sites. Last slap three months ago pushed ALL min bids to 10.00.
This slap pushed about 20% to 10.00, others just jumped to .40, .50, 1.00.

Already launched new landing page on different site for one AdGroup and got the same slap.

well it happened to me the exactly the same thing

    so i just cancelled everything
I had to pay 24 dollars to google
    I only got 53 clicks
no money generate from those clicks
most of the clicks was generated from some parked sites
which i believed the owner of that site must clicked on his/her own ads

so I don't think google adwords could really bring good value clicks to my site at this stage

I might try it later time, now, i want to focus on free traffics from google SE instead of google adwords

Just can't afford it and need to learn more about google adwords

So , you should try to read some google adwords book before you hit a big bucks into adwords
    I don't think it is even worth a try/

Look around. You'll be surprised what you'll find. Putting all your eggs in Google's hands is asking for an omelette. :)

what kind of money are you making to afford $10 / per click? I am really curious.

I am having issues paying $0.20 per click.

Also try ask.com and looksmart.com sponsored listing. I think they bought some ads space from google adswords or adsense. I got clicks from them and it's cheap, however the conversion rate is not as good as adwords.

One of my better sites just got slapped yesterday but they only want me to increase my bid from 0.10 to $1.00 on something like 25 keywords. That's not going to happen so I've paused all my campaigns until I can figure out what to do. It's a shame because I was getting a decent number of clicks and a good CTR on these keywords for months now. My average position was usually around 3.

Does anyone know where you can view the Google Quality Score of your website or is this some secret Google number used by their secret algorithm? I'd like to try to improve the quality score but if I try I have no idea if I've succeeded (other than my min. bids go down).

To be honest I don't know how anyone can build an affiliate business using AdWords if Google can just pull the rug out from under you at any time.

I just tried to start a brand new adwords campaign today, during the day I bid on my selected keywords for 0.10 each, but got involved in something else an never finished the campaign. I went back like an hour ago to try again and the minimum bid for ALL keywords was 10 bucks each...

I used to love google so much...

Sounds like it's getting tougher and tougher to profit with adwords.

I also got screwed, and adwords traffic is the source of about 70% of my income, so I really need a solution for this ASAP, and cannot look for other ppc companies - what can I do??

I have several websites, each one for every thing that I'm selling - the content is totally differeny, yet I had used the same design for all of them, like navigation bar in the same spot, same header (with different text) on top, and all that.

On the min. bids perspective, they did good since day one - and it was all good for several months until now, with up to 10% CTR.

I've contacted google, and they told me that:
"If you'd like to lower your bids by increasing your Quality Score, you
will have to significantly change the design of each of your sites such
that each site provides original and unique structure and content that is
    not mirrored in another site."

Now that's BS, because I don't get any rational explanation as to how the "user experience" could get hurt if the template of the website he's visiting, is similar to another one, yet the other website has absolutely different content (since its selling something else).

    they also told me:
"After you have made these significant changes, your Quality Score will
change as appropriate once our landing page quality algorithm revisits the
    sites you're advertising."

and when would that happen exactly? I think the algorithm would still screw me, and it already shitlisted my domains, for no good reason.

now I don't know what to do.... if I'd register new domains and have the same content, I'll might get slapped again, and also I would have duplicate content, as I don't want to close the other domains, as they are good domain names, and are getting traffic from Yahoo, and already showing in the organic search for several engines... even google.

    any help??
