My main site (www.lincolnvscadillac.com) has been at 67,500 for the longest time. as of today its 15,840 I have 12,000 pages according to the DP KW tracker, PR 5 and running 5 ads. Please explain the drop.
From what I could find it has to do with pages being dropped from Google's index. Most of the pages that I've noticed being dropped appeared to suffer from duplicate content.
The number of pages on a site that google reports as indexed (site: command) has been erratic lately. Give it a few hours and revalidate and see if that changes anything. //or maybe days, ya never know... //also different datacenters = different results
As far as I know you can't revalidate yourself without an api key. Google gives them out for free though. I think the autovalidate happens every 24 hours? not positive about that though.
I may be completely off base with this, but it probably depends on which data center the information for dp is being retrieved from when you last checked. My numbers within the data centers have been consitant up until the last 2-3 days. right now, they are all over the freaking board.
Mine moves around every now and again, usually to do with pages indexed. Should return to previous levels in a day or two max. If not, look at the pages google is listing as indexed and see what you can do about any supplimental results or pages no longer indexed.
yep, big moves as of today! SERP changes..... (one keyword) - from 25 up to #2 (another keyword) - from unlisted at dp to #24 (another keyword)- from #50, to #20 This may be the best day in my life
Resale: Can you provide some examples of what might be considered "dup content" please: same outgoing link on EVERY page of a site - example? (meaning, regardless of page content, a link to "blahblahblah.com" appears on every page of the site) how about "keyword density?" - examples, rules... THANKS, Mike
absolutely - thats the funny part - Im now ranked #5 for CADILLAC - and my weight drops by 75% the same day. And everywhere I check, my page count hasnt changed. Alot of people have expeirinced weight drops, significant ones. I would like to see an official explanation, not speculation.
Maxweb, I was referring to similar page content. If you compare any two (2) pages with the tool in the link it will display the perentage of Duplicate/Similar content.
Joeychgo, I just checked site:www.lincolnvscadillac.com and many of the pages only showed the URL. Also, Google was showing this: "In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 274 already displayed." I also checked your page count at g-metrics and they are showing a Googlecount of 477 pages.
site: has returned info like that since day one for me. and do a seach on gmetrics for http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com and it comes up at 8,000
Hey, great timing considering today's the superbowl (if these are the same sites you have listed here). Congrats.
Here is what I used and here are the results. 2005/02/06 site:www.lincolnvscadillac.com 477 ? Code (markup):
