Google has been developing a new algorithm for indexing textual content in Flash files of all kinds, from Flash menus, buttons and banners, to self-contained Flash websites.

good news..but even though it index flash pages...you will still need some tagging like title tag, meta tag or some word content in order to be categorize in certain keyword

That sounds like music to my ears. I had to develop a landing page as I wansn't getting found in google. Good stuff, way to go I think.

In that article there is another point which should be taken care of while using flash - Googlebot does not execute some types of JavaScript. So if your web page loads a Flash file via JavaScript, Google may not be aware of that Flash file, in which case it will not be indexed.

That would be a good news for SEO. According to Google , Flash files can Google better index and has the ability to index content in swf files and that includes flash gadgets and self-contained Flash websites

All of the text that users can see as they interact with your Flash file. If your website contains Flash, the textual content in your Flash files can be used when Google generates a snippet for your website. Also, the words that appear in your Flash files can be used to match query terms in Google searches.

That's really old old news, back on 2006 Google started to index Flash based sites with the SWF filetype...
But suddenly Adobe released a new edition of SDK for the search engines and Google just started by implement the new features...
how ever since Macromedia Flash in Version 7.0 there was the option for both the designers and developers of Flash to add, edit
and delete the Document information like: Title and Descriptions !!!

But Google will not be able to index everything embedded within a Flash file—at least not yet. Anything that is image-related, including text that is embedded into images, will be invisible to the search engines for the time being.

Well, Yahoo is also working with Adobe to index SWF files, but It does not give you an idea about to be as far along as Google just yet.

good news for flash sites. But i think html sites should be given priority. I have noticed few flash sites takes loads of time to upload. if that sites appearing in google search and after increasing traffic in flash sites it will be more harder to view flash sites.
