After looking at this Dc 64.233.167.104 I see that it is updating serps. When checking this DC I see that one of my sites has rankings for primary terms until now we have not ranked for. I also see some changes in the normal ranks for some of my competitors. Could this be the start of an update or is this typical flux from this DC?
I hope it is but I've seen results (for me) like that before. They appeared on a few DCs and then just reverted.
Pretty sure those are OLD results. One of my sites shows up and the title is very old (like 6+ months or more).
The change I'm seeing is new rather than old. I'm now just going to ignore that DC and this thread and check in a week or so to see if it's spread.
I've had an eye on 64.233.167.104 and 64.233.187.104 for a few days and there is something different on there. For instance, a site that doesn't rank (at all) on all other datacenters is ranking in the top 100. The cache date is relatively recent too, 17th May.
Something definitely strange, they have a recent cache date and the cached page has the proper title (current), but the title the search results show is very old.
It's probably just something to do with the Supplemental index update that Matt Cutts wrote about a while back. But still, there is a change of sorts. What is interesting about all the datacenters is that PR, backlinks, cache date and the number of indexed pages all remain constant. The only thing different are the rankings on 64.233.167.104 and 64.233.187.104.
Yep I agree with Andy and Mr las Vegas there if some thing going on those DCs aand it is new rather than old data ... and I am happy as my sites are looking good. May be google will start dancing soon!!
Google has lot of data centers and this happens to be one of em List of Google DCs (Not sure if this is real): 66.249.93.104 64.233.179.104 216.239.51.104 66.102.9.99 66.102.9.147 66.102.9.104 66.102.7.99 66.102.7.147 66.102.7.104 66.102.11.99 66.102.11.104 64.233.189.104 64.233.167.104 64.233.161.99 64.233.161.147 64.233.161.104 216.239.63.104 216.239.59.99 216.239.59.147 216.239.59.104 216.239.59.103 216.239.57.99 216.239.57.147 216.239.57.104 216.239.53.99 216.239.53.104 216.239.39.99 216.239.39.104 216.239.37.99 216.239.37.104
I'm not sure if it is new data ... would that not mean there would be a difference in the number of pages indexed / backlinks to domain? Right now I would think it is just some algo tweaking on those 2 DCs, but if it did start to roll out to other DCs then ... we'll see.
I think that it is important to note that 64.233.167.99(104 & 147) and 64.233.187.99(104) that is generally making people happy (right now anyway). After all the venting that is going on with Google right now, these dc's are generating some positive response. They have danced, I mean fluxed so much lately, but they seem to keep coming back from time to time which makes me think that this is the future.
I checked my top twenty or so keywords on 64.233.167.104. I'm not seeing much change at all. Results are very consistent with recent DP Tracker results.
If you have added any pages or made any changes to your site it will likely show up here first. A couple of my sites had many pages go awol from the index and they are recovering nicely on these dc's.
Most people here think Google has been broken for awhile now. If this turns out to be the case, Google might be testing some fixes on just one IP to see how they look before they spread out. Just a guess on my part.
