My site disappears from google ranking overnight?

I was ranking in the top 20 (and even up to 4th) for a few keywords on google and it was last verified yesterday. Then today when I checked again, my website has completely disappeared from these keyword searches. What has happened? Has my website been dropped from these keywords?

My pages should still be indexed as checked using the webmaster tool. Typing my website name in the address still yields my site.

Are there any solutions?

My advice is to wait...

It's happened to me before with a couple of my sites.

They usually return after 2-3 weeks...

if you see different results, chances are it is moving aroung and you need to wait for it to settle to its position

Yes.. just wait for some time.. if its not reflecting again then do your best SEO efforts to acheive your desired position..

Can you show us your site and how old is your site?

 

You will not believe, once all my blogs including a PR4 3 years old blog was completely out of Google. That day was very shocking for me, but it continued just for one day and i got my blogs back, don't know how.

My site was Position 1 for 1.5 years and all of a sudden it just disappeared into page6. Infact, it dropped on all SERPS, so traffic went from 1000 visitors a day to 42 or so. I praying for it to come back too.

Only thing, I did was add few more pages to sitemap. So sitemap went from 600 pages to 5000 pages or so....

 

Already discuss here. The site will come back, just wait for a week or two. But do the following:

- Keep an eye on the in bound link count
- Indexed pages count
- PR
- Other changes in the stats

Check if your page will appear when you search it using the URL itself; if its appear, its still index... dont worry, there might be some problem in google datacenter.

but don't be surprised if it stay like this for longer perio than a week, as most of other said. It may come tomorrow, but it could stay out for months. I have two sites that are completelly deranked for 4 months. And its not first time. Last years, I had few months of same situation

 

Many of my client sites have also disappeared from Google for last 1 or 2 days. I hope they will return. We are losing traffic by about 90%. And some of the sites which are neglected by me showed 300% increase in traffic. I was shocked to see that.

 

You could try contacting google to see what happened, maybe you got sandboxed.

 

Google is acting strange. One of my sites got indexed/de-indexed 5 times in less than 24 hours.
Right now it's in the index but I can't be sure what will happen one hour from now.
The site is quite new... still that's strange....

 

Sandboxed? The sites are authority sites and 4 year old with PR 4 to 5. I have to just wait and see.

 

This is normal for newer sites - but my 2.5 year old site had the same thing happen a few weeks ago (we call it a google-slap) .. yours is probably temporary - mine lasted about two weeks..
