Is it common if G's cache of the main page is not updated for several days? It used to be refreshed every day but somehow for last 9 days we don't see "fresh" copy. Googlebot visits constantly but main page cache still shows Jan. 23 We do have rotating block so content is changing... Any idea?
I have even seen at times for some of our real estate competitors that the fresh tag doesnt show a new cache date but if you click on the cache it will show a new date. I have only seen this a few times however.
Some of sites on SERP which are higher or lower don't have a date. I think it's not a very big deal by itself... what's strange is that our site used to be updated every day all the time regardless of new content. Some internal pages have newer cache than the main one and their content didn't change for months. Just strange...
It's the same here... Cache date 21 january, 6 January before that, and 24 dec before that again.. Used to get spidered and indexed/cached several times pr week before 24 dec. (it's a PR 6 site by the way) The site gets deepcrawled almost every day...
Now it's really drives me nuts! Pages are crawled by Gbot and MSNbot but main page cache retrival date is Jan. 23 and is not updated since then.
