John has decided to sell V7N network of sites to pursue a degree in Philosophy. It got sold for only a year's revenue.. Very Cheap for such a succesful site.. He had put up a low BIN and some guy binned it.. All the best to John in his Phylosophical Pursuit and to the new owner as well.. V7N was a one man show, and I hope the new owner can retain the brand image..
John's done well selling sites in the past. I'm surprised he let this one go this low... good luck to him.
cool-a philosophy degree huh! good for him! I wish him well. I always wanted to do a philosophy degree.
http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/auctions/37988 Buy It Now Bid Pending! Amazing price, I wish I would be owner of v7n
Looks like a fantastic web site, something of a DP but on a smaller scale. Price wise I notice that average revenue for 2007 was $36k while for 2008 was $24k. That is a huge decrease. Net profit seemed to be half this amount. Maybe the owner had not much time to promote it. Price looks reasonable if we take into account 2008 revenues.
DP would probably sell for something like 60 Million. v7n never lived up to its potential despite the fact that it's been started earlier. JS's decision to go back to school explains that he was probably never really into it that much.
Sounds like he gets itchy feet quite often. We had those websites before v7n (sevenseek and others)... then the last I heard he emigrated to Japan... previously, I think he used to be in the building trade. Sounds like he's the sort to always move on to bigger and better things. Good luck to him with his next chapter!
