Google Updates List of 3rd Party Ad Providers

If you're an AdSense publisher, and you are not using the widget I wrote to keep your privacy policy in line, then it's time to update your privacy policy again.

They added 2 more brand new providers, and added one into a category they weren't in before:

Is this really necessary? Google says if I enable image ads in my rotation, then I'm automatically enrolled in 3rd party ads.

What's this have to do with privacy policy? Need you include every 3rd parties name in it, as far as i know, you just name them third parties and that's it.

Correct. You have to manually opt out if you don't want them, and if you don't opt out then you have to update your privacy policy.

It has to do with Google's instructions:

Quote:
Do I need to update my site policies regarding third-party ads?

Yes. We strongly encourage you to update your site policies regarding third-party ads as follows:
  • Notify your site visitors of the third-party vendors serving ads on your site.
  • Provide links to the appropriate vendor websites.
  • Inform your users that they may visit those vendor websites to opt out of cookies (if the vendor offers this capability).
That's from:

If you don't use image ads, there's no need to update anything

Image ads are the crap of the CPC world with adsense.... I don't use them

You cannot put a sexy girl in a text based ad. It's just not possible.
