hi there any one know for any good PHP tutorials that would be good for an absolute beginner? thanks in advance.
If you really want to learn php then i suggest reading up places that have examples to go with the text the places i started off learning where sites like this: www.w3schools.com/php/ www.tizag.com www.php-mysql-tutorial.com The best way is read the text properly and then break the code up into bits once you learn it then go test it out in your webspace if it dont work read about it agian and then try sooner or later you will get the hang of it. Then go on to writing small basic script from there you'll understand. Hope this helps you.
Free or Paid? Free: http://www.phpvideotutorials.com/ (I guess the easiest) http://www.php-mysql-tutorial.com/ http://www.killerphp.com/videos/ ... Paid: Lynda.com tutorials
lol i didnt know there was paid tutorials, i learnt all from there free tutorial sites on google and now made it to making fully functional scripts.
thanks guys. i reall y want to learn php, so il get started on those websites you have mentioned right away. are the tutorials on lynda very good? if they are i wouldnt mind paying for them thanks.
The best place to learn PHP is PHP.net/manual. Read from starting to the end. While reading, do some practice. Read tutorials about the functions you read. After some time, you'll learn PHP very good.
i'm going to university this year to study computer science and my course covers php, java, html, xhtml and many other programming languages. I would suggest uni is the best place to learn this sort of thing, however, in your spare time those sites you suggested are fantastic, the paid one (lynda) is very good, i just wanted to say thanks because i wanted to brush up before i go to uni and those sites have really helped. I think you should start by reading book. Once you have learned basics then you can find some website to explore advance ideas.
I think the best way is combining what softvisionand WhaLberg said: Read a book to learn the basics then take the PHP manual as friend.
I would have said my forums, lol, though those are down because the host has stolen my domain :X Hmm, I think tutorialized.com and goodtutorials.com are good sites (maybe it was good-tutorials.com ;D).
On my opinion the php official documentation is the best place to start http://www.php.net/manual/en/getting-started.php
hi www.ebooknetworking.net/ebooks/php.html You will get many pdf tutorials here or you can search by topic Regards Alex
I've learned all by building my own little applications by looking at other tiny applications and ofcource asking alot and if i say alot.... i mean alot
I second the recommendation on tizag.com. A friend of mine started learning PHP recently and found their tutorials much more useful than most of what's out there.
