    If you have a strictly devel box and your constantly working on your pages (non google ad placement related) and you fear you may click a googie, do this:

    Find in your computer:

    Windows 95/98/Me c:\windows\hosts

    Windows NT/2000/XP Pro c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

    Windows XP Home c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

    Open with Word Pad

    Ad:

    127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com

    Save, restart browsers, and wala!

    You'll never see a googie again..

    Should work with all browsers

    No need for enabling/disabling java script

    You may want to verify the linkage from your googs are pointing to pagead2.googlesyndication.com

    there is a javascript variable that you put on your Adsense code to make tests. I guess it's google_ad_test = 'on';

    If you ever do have an accidental click, email google, they are very happy to hear from you, and will not ban you for emailing them to tell them...

    I have done it twice now, and they have been nothing but helpfull :)

    Bad ideea.. especially if you're testing the site on your own computer... which means 127.0.0.1 will replace the google ads with your site and so on and so on ..

    Use 127.0.0.2 or something different.
