I do agree about Bush being a failure. Hurricane Katrina, The Economy (gas prices) not leaving Iraq after we captured and oversaw the hanging of saddam hussein. The list goes on and on.
I think people who see this as being a close race in November are failing to realize that the only reason it's close now is because of all the political in-fighting in the Democratic party. That is over. And Obama just beat the most powerful political family in our nation. Once people start being reminded how much they hate the war, how bad the economy is, how badly this country needs a new direction, and the gas prices have gone up by $2 more this race won't be nearly as close as you think IMHO. Do yourself a favor and check out the latest polls and see how many people think it's completely ridiculous that McCain and GWB call talks with our enemies appeasement. Less than 28% of Israelis were against talks with Hamas. P.S. Obama jumped to a 6 point lead over McCain in the national polls the day after he clinched the nomination and has been rising since.
Ah yes, racism. If you don't vote for Obama and you're white, well then clearly that's racist. Also, let's all forget the fact that Obama surrounds himself with extremely racist and anti-semitic people. Course we can let that slide because Obama is a black man and we all know only heterosexual white males are racists. Ahh the people who claim that there is no racism So what... everyone who is white and voted for Hillary did it with pure intentions in their hearts? Heh let me answer that for you. NO. Exit poll results in West Virginia showed 2 out of 10 Whites who voted for Hillary said race was a factor. Think about what that means..... that means that the people were not only racist, but they were so racist they had balls enough to say it in a crowded area full of voters right to the face of an exit poller with a clipboard. And that's just the ones ballsy enough to say it so openly like that.... So no not everyone who is white and votes against Obama is racist, but let's not try and pretend that it's a ridiculous argument to suggest it, mmkay? So if you're really in need of a reason to hate Obama supporters try an argument that makes sense next time. FAIL.
Did you just twist what I said? There's people that aren't going to vote for Obama because they perfer Mccain, and there's going to be people that don't vote for Obama BECAUSE BELEIVE IT OR NOT THERE ARE RACIST PEOPLE IN AMERICA. OH MY GOD NO WAY I have family members that won't vote for him just because his name and color..come on.
There are both black and white racist that will vote based on color. That will be the same % for both or against depending on how you look at it.
Of course I did. Barack gets between 80 and 90 % of the black vote. There's racism on both sides. I was merely pointing out how you were sarcastically trying to make it seem like people were silly for believing that some people vote against him because he's black. But if you are angry because he gets the majority of the black vote, then just say so. It's ok.
I'm not angry about it at all, I don't care. What I do get angry with is the usual "omg McCain is getting more of the white vote because whites are racists!" That argument is getting really F'ing old. Obama is getting just as much(way more IMO) votes based on race as McCain is. I honestly don't care who wins, it's going to be nothing but poop either way.
I believe Obama will win and I think he will win by a reasonably wide margin. That being said I am not 100% certain of this because I know there will be a lot of dirty GOP tricks and I know that there are many racist Americans who will be voting against their own best interest (ie for McCain) just because of Obama's mixed race background. I'm hopeful that after 8 years of Bush/Cheney, Americans are ready to reject dirty personality attack based politics and are more concerned with the real issues facing America. If people vote on the issues this will be a landslide - Obama by as much as 20%. McCain is wrong about almost everything. He is also extremely untrustworthy and has an awful temper. He's not much of a speaker either. I don't really see any appeal to the guy at this point. Maybe if he was the McCain from 2000 he'd have a shot. But he's not.
