Webmaster tools has just updated backlinks

To 2 of my sites.
Anybody else see this?
It doesn't happen to often now days.

Wonder if that means an update to PR is coming!

Yep I now also see it. Wow, this took about 1 year for my site.

I don't think it effects the PR, because Google only showed 2 backlinks and my site was already a PR3.

But anyway, good to see this, I was wondering why I didn't see the backlinks in Google.

I was seeing 82 backlinks for about a month when I knew I had many more. just looked 742 so I'm happy too! Seems all my sites have upped in BL at least a little thanks for pointing it out.

I do not think PR and BL in webmaster tools are related. I would love to have an update soon and get a few of my PR0 on the map but webmaster tools used to update at least weekly for me and ofcourse they don't update PR that often.

Yeap the back links seemed to have some movement, I guess PR movement should not be far behind

My backlink in webmaster changes neally every 2weeks
But not mean PR updata.
And my BL in webmster tool arrived about 1000 for a about 2 month ago!
But now my PR also only 1

Yes I agree, If I recall correctly, the last time my backlinks changed in Webmaster tools, PR updated less than a week later.. or maybe it was a little longer...
Can't really remember exactly how long afterwards but it wasn't long..

I have heard people say this before, that there backlinks in webmaster tools changes all the time.
But in mine they don't.. I don't know why.
Maybe the change in my back link count is not very much so they don't bother updating my webmaster tools until they are about to update PR! Who knows..
I did get an increase this time, but not many, less that 100.

This is my first post here, so "hi!" to all of you! My links in webmaster tools have changed (increased overall) as well. One disturbing thing I noticed was 72 new links from some porn/warez site. Not sure why they linked to one of my real estate blogs. Porn and real estate together at last...like nuts and gum.

That does seem odd and a bit disturbing! But whats wrong with nuts and gum?

Have you been to the sites and verified if there are actual links pointing to your site? and if there are you should email the webmaster and get them to remove them.
I am not sure if having links from them sorts of sites can do any harm to your sites SERPS but it's better safe that sorry. Could be that one of your competitors is trying to discredit you, or maybe its just a mistake in webmaster tools.

I have a little PHP script I wrote to keep stats in semi real time, and today I recorded a hit from the same porn/warez site. I'm chicken to click on any of the links on that site to double check, but I did look over the source. Didn't see anything, but I guess we must be there somewhere. My guess is that because we use the word "big" so much, some bot pegged us for a site that must be related to porn. Every link from this site has the word "big" in it somewhere - sounds like a Sir-Mix-A-Lot rap!

My blog is also got indexed yesterday after one week , though it is having pagerank 4 and in past my post were almost indexed in two day , google really make me to dance on all forums too for searching reasons on not indexing . But now i am happy everything is working fine . Buddy in other thread some says pr update will be on 31 july .

I would keep an eye on it, I just checked mine again and to my surprise it has updated again ..
when I first started this thread my webmaster tools backlinks had risen from 575 to 668, and now it says that I have 705.
My backlink count hardly ever updates, so to see it update twice in a few days make me think that there is about to be a google toolbar update to

EDIT: on the downside I just checked my other site that had updated the other day, and it has lost a couple. but they were not relevant backlinks anyway so I'm not to worried.

EDIT 2: A site that I created and added to webmaster tools last Monday, is now showing backlinks from my sig. I checked it ten minutes ago (when I made the first edit) and they were not showing, I checked just now and they are there 62 of them.
