You have to do onpage optimization and of page optimization and if you have new site then you should start with onpage 1st thing is search good relevant and search able keyword it is very important and create good meta tag for your site after this research on ur competitors sites what they doing then target your visitors and your keywords then start of page work on your targeted keywords. Instead of Directory Submission, I'd recommend seeking out new and more creative ways of getting backlinks. Your time is MUCH better spent doing this - directories are worth next to no link juice in this day and age. Tip: Stay up to date with new "web 2.0" sites and see whether there is a possibility to get a backlink out of them. I'm not going to give you all of my secrets, but really, think outside the box.
