You guys aren't going to believe this one!!!

Today, I overheard the management of my company talking about a real estate company in Boston that found a MAJOR glitch in Google --- a way to get to #1 in the search in JUST 1 NIGHT

There is a way to manipulate maps and come to the top!!!

Go to Google, and put in the term: Boston condo sales

This company "Domain" comes up on the map!!!!!

Does anyone know how to do this?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!? This is BIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Search Boston Condo sales ------- this "Condo Domain" website found a glitch with the Google Maps to come up to #1

I heard there's a reward from Google for ratting people out like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It just sucks I can't rat anyone out even if they are losers like these people!!!!!

Well the domain was created in 1997 and they look like they have their website on a dedicated server as their nameservers are:
    NS1.BOSTONCOMPUTING.NET
    NS2.BOSTONCOMPUTING.NET

They also have a few related domains such as bostonhomes.com, boston-living.com.
So they might just be a big company or do a lot of websites and link them up to each other?
    Just a thought

That bostonhomes website actually isn't part of theirs

However, that other site that is coming up high: Boston-condos-for-sale.com is one of theirs

I never heard of these people, I am checking them out now, it looks like they have 5 related websites that are in the top 10 for certain boston keywords as well

I couldn't find it in the top ten when I tried to search it using Boston condo sales, but when I searched Boston condo, it came number 2.
Have a look at the cache and you can see the highlighted keywords,

    http://209.85.173.104/search?q=cach...dodomain.com/+Boston+Condo&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2

Probably a well optimized page, PR-5,
why do you think they have found some sort of glitch? What makes your managers think they have found a glitch? What makes you think this can happen in one day? After all smartpagerank says..
    Just curious thats all

    Cheers

using a glitch on google is not going to help you in the long term - soon enough, G will figure it out and punish sites abusing it.

yeah, it isn't something wise to do. No matter what glitch, it is a matter of time before google finds out. And if they feel you directly manipulated them, so much for you!

Although I am very curious how they did it (if they really did anything at all) I would never even try it. Yea you might be number one on Google for a week or two but then you'll be banned and you'll lose all traffic from Google. Definitely not worth it in the end.

It is called the Google Local Business Center

You add your company name, and it appears on the top....with a map next to it.

I'd like to know that, too. Has anyone figured out how they did it? I agree that it's not something I would try.
