Hey guys, i registered a domain with a few keywords i want to rank high for in google.

I spent about an hour slapping together a couple of pages also containing those terms.

I then got indexed by google, and ranked #2 for my keywords  Great i thought!

Then i checked another day later and i ranked #8 or so.

So i thought ok need to add more content, added a few more pages - submited a sitemap (for the first time) and now i seem to have dropped of the SERPS for the keywords i want :( (not in the first 10 or so pages anyway)

Can any one comment on this please? First time at trying to target keywords from day one.

This can happen to new websites, don't expect it to last long. You'll end up in the back of the line in a few days; i'd bet on it. Sorry to be the bear're of bad news. :(

It happen to my site also. My site rank #60 in google and now I see my keywords in #138. Really sad to find my site dropped but I hope this is just temporary.

You may have ranked high initially because Google favors fresh content for some queries.

Dude you're just in the sandbox now. Depending on your niche, expect to be there for another 3-12 months. Most likely 3.5 months. Just keep building your links and all will be fine.

Yes if you create new website and your main keyword in your domain then google pick very early that on top position but after some time you can't see your site in google after that when you starting work again on that site then it will come back slowly slowly

Yes, it's just because your site is new it may rank high at first but then the rank will decrease.

I suggest that you start making backlinks to your site from other high PR sites. and adding your site to directories. this can help increase your rank

That means you can reach good position when you work harder, that will be easy for you.

This usually happens to new websites. If your keywords are not the competitive ones, you should be seeing your site rank well soon. Otherwise, if the keywords are competitive, it could take approximately six months before your site shows up. In any case, keep building up your backlinks.

ranking as we know is erratic, you cannot simply get to the top, do nothing and expect to be there the next day. Anyway, you should concentrate on making the best content fit for your site, that way, google will know you have the related content the visitors need, giving you higher ranking. however, you shouldn't pay attention to your rank, it is all about how well you earn IMO.

Google give a New Content Boost to new pages and new sites, this boost helps them rank high in search results. But this boost is only temporary.

You got that boost which helped you rank on the 2nd place.

In other to get a stable position in search results ranking, build lots of backlinks.
