Hi: Last year i was earning $30/day with adsense and 5000 Unique visitors per day. And this year, i have 10,000 unique visitors and my earning is $25/day.... It should be double or at least $50. Whats going on?
Adsense has move to a better model off late, earlier the entire text was clickable , recently they more to making only the title an durl clickable....this has results in less clicks for publisher and reduced unnecessay clicks for adwords advertisers
Is it just me or is that disgraceful? I'm not really sure what's the big deal with adsense. I make more than that with 50 unique visitors a day.
I have a noticed a trend in lower earnings per click, particularly for this month. More clicks, less earnings daily. I hope the trend doesn't continue into next month.
With the falling us currency is effecting this I belive. I used to make $200 per day on adsense now it has fell to $150 per day with the same traffic and clicks. -James
About 5 months ago, my EPC tanked by 2/3 overnight, and stayed there. All my hard work didn't seem to matter. Recently however, it has been going up. Quite a bit. I think that the "quality factor" associated with my site got upgraded somehow. I haven't changed that much, but I think that the Google algo has improved (what can I say? - better for me, anyway).
Google has new models for distributing the wealth making an effort to reward clicks that convert for advertisers versus those that don't. That said, if you are seeing a doubling in traffic over the last year, you should look for other ways to monetize your audience. AdSense is good if you have a small web site because it is the only one that can monetize 100 visitors a day but many webmasters who have reached the several thousand visitors a day mark know to move to better things compared to AdSense. Promoting a product relevant to your site's audience and collecting affiliate commissions can be much more profitable than AdSense. Think about getting 2 sales every day ( a very low estimate if your 10000/day traffic is of any quality) for a product with a $20 commission per sale; you have already beat your AdSense earnings. Good luck!
The rate per click has gone down because Google has given lot of options to the advertisers and advertisers are keeping the per click rate low because their ROI is also getting lower because of Made for Adsense sites and click fraud. I think, now a days advertisers are more interested clicks from search results because they think thats the actual user who is looking for the product or service. Search Result ads are paying high as well.
I would suggest you try different adsense formats and try to match your adsense with the color and look of your website. My favorite adsense format is 336*280
