A strange "effect" on my homesite which I cannot understand

... i.e. I cannot understand what's causing it. This strange effect is a "field" or "area" (p element in particular) on my home-site's "index.html" page: http://users.volja.net/tayiper/index.html ("around" the text that says: "Enter the site's "intro.html" page by clicking this text ..."), that I've discovered it totally by chaance when I was trying to find out the valid equivalent (by W3C) to marquee tag; see the thread linked below for details.


The code that's causing it:

p { overflow: scroll; white-space: nowrap; marquee: slide infinite }

P.S. -- I already mentioned this "effect" in this particular post in the "Is there a valid equivalent to marquee tag (by W3C recommendations) ?? thread that I opened on ArsTechnica forums back then; in fact, it was sort of suggested to use it instead of invalid "marquee" tags.
