The purchase makes a lot of sense for MS. They will probably have to pay a premium though.

That's the first I had heard of that. It does make sense and it doesn't sound out of the realm of possibility.

I really don't think its going to happen because Yahoo has out there new YPN service that is part of there search engine and they are gong to make big money like Google does with AdSense.

Original source was the Wall Street Journal which (IMHO) is heads-n-shoulders above CNN in being legit.

So definately some discussions - whether they pan out or not remains to be seen.

Is normal that MS is trying to take a bigger piece of SE market and they have money . Is very possible to buy it or make a deal with them to make one search engine . In this case Google is gonna have troubles and will make them come back to earth .

Has Yahoo stock seen any increases over the last 3 months? If not, then there could be some money to be made.

Yes I totally agree ... but in this case I think I would love to see it ..,. because I think it will make us all a better opportunity to earn money.

I could be very wrong but I feel that a marriage between Yahoo and Msn could mean a much better Ypn and a fast launch.

Plus I think that the chinese are coming on to the scene really soon with a new search engine and I think the big boys better be ready for some very very big competition.

But I think a move like this on MSN's part could secure a piece of the market for MSN and Yahoo ... If you remember the president of china was here 2-3 weeks ago and didnt follow normal protocol to go and vistit George Bush , but went to meet Bill Gates first then later that day went to meet Bush! - Gates ain't stupid , he is a slick cat !

Just my opinion ... probably wrong .. just my gut feelings from reading these last few months

I don't think this is going to happen...

Yahoo is going to make some serious cash with YPN...

I could see this happening but I'm not so sure this will be good!

Wonder why they won't just buy some stake in Google instead. That would make a lot more sense, since they are the established leader in this market.

Anything that pushes google of its pedestal is a good thing.
