I have been reading online where one of the fastest growing markets is the spanish speaking market. I was shocked to see how some people were taking a website the had and putting it on anotther domain , modifying it a little and translating it to spanish ! then after that, marketing it to the spanish market is cheaper due to less competition and cheap advertising costs. I just want to share this with other marketers here because for the people who jump in and get a good footing right now , it could be a sweet means of income! Spanish people spend alot of money online and should not be over looked! I have been researching this and today another DP member had mentioned he wanted to start a forum that teaches spanish to people .... I told him yes you should and explained why I thought so... So not long after that there it was ... they are putting together a forum where we can all learn spanish ... Nnow this could be a good idea because even if you use a translater there is still going to be a need to have a basic knowledge of the language So heres the link if you are interested ... its not mine it is theirs .. I just wanted to take the time to point these tips out and also tell you about them Join Here <<< Learn Spanish Free
Internet World Stats says: - There are 80,593,698 Spanish speaking people using the Internet, this represents 7.9% of all the Internet users. - Out of the estimated 429,293,261 world population that speaks Spanish, 18.8% use the Internet. - The number of Spanish Speaking Internet Users has grown 229.2% in the last five years (2000-2005). Personally, I am now using Interlogic's Free on the fly site translation script. It's not perfect, but it is the only really workable solution for my current web empire.
is it actually profitable to translate your site into other languages? also, using that script, does google index the translated pages?
I have a question. Can I translate my site to Spanish and leave the current adsense as is? Or do I need to set it up with Google for Spanish?
Based on what you are saying Mr. Crow, I might consider translating articles to spanish for small amounts of money (Perfectly fluent in Spanish, born in Venezuela, lived 11 years in south america), anyone interested PM me. You should also consider the Brazilian market, which is also quite big, I also offer translations to portuguese (also perfectly fluent).
Translating is great. But you need to market it in this language also. spanish keywords, etc etc. Just like normal, so keep that in mind. The job doesn't stop at translation.
That is the point of the thread ... if you go back and read it , I said that it would be a good idea to learn the language! Just having a working knowledge would help alot so a person could get by enough to know where and how top post info.
My worry with "learning the language" is that I would probably sound like all of those ESL (English as a Second Language) folks. I can just see how my Spanish language web site would sound to a native... "Hello. You are problem having motherboard? I here help to you. Soltek motherboard very goodly motherboard. Have update BIOS driver you?"
LMAO Will ..... Good one .. I just mean so you can navigate and have a basic understanding of how to find stuff you need when you look in their directories and such ... Not as much to converse but to give you a way to feel your way around a bit in their world
I don't know what would be fair, maybe $1 per 100 words? just PM me if you are interested and how much you think would be an appropriate fee.
