Fifteen minutes ago, I went to my web site - http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/ It shows this - HACKED BY SANALKURT / BY SERSERI ANGEL; "BARIS AKARSU -KALBIMIZDESIN FROM TURKEY CONTACT:SANALKURT@HOTMAIL.DE Check it out yourself for confirmation. (EDIT: temporarily fixed for now, keep reading) Can someone please give me the steps to address this as soon as possible, since I am losing AdSense income while this problem exists. Thank you very much for any help. I will be revisiting this post all day.
I have had this happen to me before. All I did was contacted the guy and he said he was just playing around testing things and didn't have any specifics of targeting my site. I would just contact the guy...
Do you have a back-up of all the content...and databases if any?? Maybe your webhost did....so contact your webhost first...to ask them... If not..I think you should contact the hacker... He'll probably ask for some cash...probably by e-gold....
Step 1: Call the police. Hacking is a crime and a serious one at that. Step 2: Call your host. Get it fixed. Step 3: Call your lawyer.
These Turkish hackers are a gang, do not contact them, this is a game they play, they post the site they've hacked for their friends to see. I've seen the website where they post their conquests, but it was a while ago, so I don't have a link. Many times they target sites for being offensive to Turks. Have you done anything like this?
Before I contact him, I am going to wait until I hear from Google, and my ISP (Sunday, nobody home). Maybe they like to do this on Sundays, so it is more difficult to reach your ISP. All my data is backed up, in 3 places offline. I don't really have a "Control Panel". I just upload using Fetch. I don't think that I have done anything to offend Turks. If so, I certainly didn't intend to. I am using Mac OS 10.4.11. I use Firefox 2.0.0.12
Okay, dude, no one needs to know the OS on your desktop. What they are asking is: Linux or Windows server? cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk? ON YOUR SERVER! Not your desktop at home. Or do you host this site on your desktop computer? I know a member here who has dealt with Turkish hackers in the past, but I don't think I should mention it without permission. Search Turkish Hackers here and see what he had to say about it.
My ISP runs the Apache software. I am not a programmer, so I am not familiar with all the details. It looks like I soon will be.
Login to your cPanel. Delete all the files. Or move all the files to another folder. Upload a fresh index.html. If that doesn't work. Change the nameserver for your domain to the default one. Then contact your webhost.
I had my sites hacked similar to yours. I just added a few codes and now I've been laughing all the time they couldn't hacked my website until now. You can pm me about this if you need help.
contact your host, and then reload your index.html (.htm) or index.php file. They have diffinitely dropped the ball and have not applied all the patches to their server.
Yes, the sub-pages are working! Example - http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/history/santa-cruz-rail-tunnels.htm Thank you for pointing this out. I will upload my index page right now.
Its a script kiddy if he/she hacked you for no reason. "Real" hackers have a motive so I've heard. Contact your host, probably just a deface.
