My adventures in Egypt

So as most who know me here will know I have been in Egypt for 2 weeks now, and just came back yesterday. Was in Cairo for 3 days, Luxor for 4 days and Sharm El Sheikh for 7.

So now I thought it was about time to upload the pictures and tell people about it.

It was great to say the least. I don't think i'd go back though. Okay so seeing the pyramids and temples there was a good thing, but they arn't going to change in my lifetime unless by some catastrophe they fall down or something, or unless they find new ones. The spynx was pretty amazing though, all made out of one stone and that.

They didn't allow you to take pictures and/or videos inside anywhere (pyramids, temples, etc) which was a bit disappointing, but pictures wouldn't really come out well in them anyway.

Did some other things as well, like snorkeling, glass bottom boat, diving, air balloon at sunrise (that bloody burnt my head though), saw how papyrus was made, bunch of other stuff.

Heres some pictures (althgough i'm only allowed to post 4 per post here, there is about 90 in that gallery):

Snorkeling and diving was amazing in the red sea. I think I might take it up as a hobby back here it was that good.

    Anyway, any questions?
    Thanks,
    TS

It seems like you had quite a bit of fun in Egypt, I'm jealous, hopefully I will get to visit Egypt sometime in the future.

You get hassled a lot to buy crap that you don't want. They have a great way of making you feel like you need to buy something too, they sit you down in their shop and offer you a drink (out of courtesy) then you pretty much feel like you need to buy something if you accept, and thats when they charge you about 10X as much for what you want to buy as it's worth, need to be good at haggling there :D. There isn't even that much nice things to buy, most is crap statues or perfume that smells like cat pee.

Yeah, i've been to Tunisia and Kenya before, they were both the same in that aspect, loads of people who will try sell you anything they can.

They all seem to have pretty good memories for names and faces though.

    Best part?
Apart from the hot women sunbathing topless? Diving was probably the best thing.

Cost? I have no idea my parents paid for it (think it was somewhere in the £7000+spending money region for the 2 weeks with 5 of us). We were in pretty good hotels though (like the hilton...) and a bunch of excursions were paid for already (pyramids, temples, sound + light show, etc)

Aye scuba gear, didn't bother with wetsuits cause they would only take us down 5metres (I think, might have been 10) at most, but it was still pretty good. It was warm water, y'know with the temp being about 20-25C in the water.

Animals? Mostly fish...like these (although this was from a glass bottom boat):

A lot of coral and stuff too which was nice to look at. There are turtles in the red sea, but I didn't see any (they are further out i'm told, where the water is deeper).

I should take pics of them...

I got some papyrus paintings which look pretty good. Got a nice statue of horus (the god with an eagle head). Not much else...apart from duty free.
Some of the alabaster stone things looked okay (it's stone that looks ace when light is put inside it), but it's not exactly something I would use or have in my flat. Things like this
There wasn't really anything else I would buy there, there wasn't much else to buy.
