Refer this post... http://adsense.blogspot.com/2008/04/promoting-your-referrals-properly.html 2nd part simply means that google does not allow "adsense arbitrage" meaning you can't do advertising for a page which already has Google or other referral products in it. So be careful guys... I think many people on this forum have got banned because of this reason.
what about arbitrage between different company products, lets say driving adcenter traffic to adsense pages. sure visitor loyalty will be very low but does google catch that too?
Yes I think they have mentioned that any sort of advertising to get to a page loaded with Google referral products is not permittted. If at all you want to do that, you need to take prior permission from the advertiser.
Interesting read, but I still think that the adsense TOS is like hitting a moving target. "G" can change it's mind on a whim and then send the whole publisher network into a frenzy.
That means google should provide a 'one button' interface to say.. Okay for next two months I am advertising my site, stop all adsense . After two months.. fine.. my advertising campaign is over restart adsense
Well they better tell the firefox + google toolbar people they do not mention that at all on their page under the FAQ's here is what they say : What´s not allowed? You are not allowed to promote your target URL address via popups or spam. If done, your pub-ID will be blocked and your traffic redirected to another publisher randomly. So do NOT spam or popup , simple as this Nothing about being banned from adsense etc. Nothing about online advertising they pretty much tell you not to spam and that is it.
I would say that they mean that its ok to do a link exchange its just that they expect your landing page to follow the rules as in say if someone was maybe dropping a link on a forum and when they reach the landing page the page is setup in a way that it serves no other purpose but to serve the referal ads (basically theres not much else there on the page) then i think thats what they are talking about. I think they are concerned with the quality of pages and sites in general where the referrals or search or other google ads may be. It appears they are not against some natural link exchange or dropping a link in your signature, i think they (in that text) are just showing what they see as advertsing a website, the various methods. If a site is of quality and content, you are going to be fine.
This has nothing to do with adsense for content, so people are just saying you can't use adwords to promote sites using adsense at all. From what I can see it means that if you made a site to generate conversions, which I think is a minority, you have to get permission. Any regular site can use refferal ads. Please state if you think I am wrong.
