Just got the worst call ever.

Hello this is YPN. We are going to have to close your account because your traffic quality is bad.

I was feeling so good about life..

Meh, Maybe I didn't deserve it.

consider this a warning I suppose.. they said my sites weren't converting well for them. sad story.

I guess they have to make money too, and if my audience was crap, well I can't really blame them.

They didn't give you any more info then that? What type of sites? Where was your traffic coming from that it was considered 'bad'.

Question

wow.

wow.

Sorry to read your story.

Question: was the traffic to your site(s) easily verifiable? In other words, could the folks @ YPN see that clicks were coming from search engine traffic to your site(s)? I have a feeling that they monitor the source of the click traffic very closely.

I was running myspace sites. They didn't give me a real "reason". I asked if it was because of international and they didnt give me a real direct answer and I get 90% US so I doubt it was that. Myspace sites are aimed towards the younger internet market, and that's probably the real reason. I also tried to find out if it was going to happen to alot of people..they didnt want to reveal anything. I'm going to try to target my ads better and rearrange them. Maybe if I do better tomorrow and sunday, they might let me stay. it's a small chance im going to take.

Yeah, that sound like a plausible reason. Kids spend plenty of time online, and they do plenty of clicking, but they have no money, so I would think that most young folks don't actually spend money at the sites they are visiting, certainly not as much as the 35-55 demographic anyway.

As always, IMO.

So, have they closed the account yet or just a warning? Dang, is ypn mass-kicking out publishers away now?

May i ask what range are you in for your earnings? $xx,xxx? $xxx, xxx?

This is a sad story to hear.

the YPN folks are very reasonable people, no doubt; they are infinitely more reasoanble than the AS people. My bet is you'll get back in at some point.

I have to wonder how does Yahoo know if the people clicking ads don't buy stuff? Alright it's young people clicking BUT if your targeting young folks why would Yahoo do this?

It would be interesting to know what age group spends the most money. I know i've been spending alot lately (thanks to yahoo).. but I generally see the spenders mainly in the 20-30 range.

It's more like the 35-55 range <--this group buys those big, big ticket items like luxury cars, mortgages, etc.
