The world and his dog seems to be able to do head swapping on photoshop. Can anyone point me towards a basic guide or tutorial?
Take your base photo (Marty). Collect your head for the swap (Macho Man). Now what I do is quickly cut out the head from the Macho Man photo with a lasso tool. Then I drag that head over to the destination photo. Once on the destination, I'll size it so it covers the swapped-out head. If there are parts that it does not cover, you have to paint them back in with the clone stamp / bandaid. Now that the badly cut out head is floating on top, I'll make a quick mask or just erase out the parts I don't want. Next you have to match up the skin tones and lighting so that the head sort of blends in with the original. Quick and dirty.....
when you're just learning how to move heads or any bits for that mater, one of the tricks is to start with images that are very similar in style, shadows and general colourings, this makes the end result more realistic, and easier to accomplish. For this one (sorry it was very quick) found a model then a david hasselhoff head to fit the body - in terms of colour, shading etc, also looked for a simple (read easy to select and remove) background, deleted that, moved it, resized it and Bob's errr David's your Uncle... or is that your Aunt?.. lol If you want to see it, I took a couple of screen shots as I went thru the process... Oh, when I went to upload it I found an old one I'd done of Britney as a Borg Queen, again found the queen and then a pix of Britney with the right shading and tones to match (boy do I need to get out more!)
I have put up some basic tutorials for using the photo editing software for Face Swaps. You can check it out here- http://faceswaps.com/how-to-face-swap/
