Hi guys, Back again and looking for a proxy template design this time... Looking for something that has a similar feel to this and this, although it doesn't have to be exactly the same. I'm looking for a template that is going to be flexible enough, that if i want to change the logo picture and recolor the text for special occasions, that it's not going to be impossible because of the design. (ie. the first template example is a simple update of the second one, and didn't take me long to do) The rules... - Multiple entries permitted, and you can win more that once - Contest is for PSD only, although if you can assist with coding will discuss that after purchase (or quote it with your entry) - There has to be sufficient ad space. If I wanted a template with a big text box and one ad, then that's what I'd ask for. It's not... Look at the template example I gave. LOTS of ad space please Anything and everything to get this started guys. Definately want 1 template, and may buy up to 3 if I see more that I like.
Nice, but not quite what I'm looking for... The green doesn't do much for me, there's nowhere near enough ad space and the design is too 'separated'. by that i mean with the idea with a lot of proxy templates, is to optimize the placement of ads to ensure maximum click thru rates, either intentional or accidental... the address box should all but disappear in to the rest of the page, so that they need to look to find it, not just zoom straight in on it and browse away immediately...
does this template need to be an actual design? what i mean is that i can make a simple design (like examples) using just code or do you insist on psd's?
Just a straightforward coded design is fine. The examples I gave are just a simple tableless css design, and it looks great, and I just found another template that i really don't mind. http://www.trackhide.info/ I like the basic overall layout of the examples I gave in my opening post, but quite like the clever color scheme used in the www.trackhide.info site. Maybe something that incorporates elements of the 2 designs ?
Okay, please bear in mind that I've now selected a domain for this site, and it's www.bubso.com. I've just opened a contest to have a logo and some banners done here so you may want to hold off on this until the logo has been selected...
would welcome an entry from you Will. I saw some of your work in an arcade contest a while back and was impressed... Point for everyone to note, I've got a parallel contest running to design a logo and some banners for bubso as well, so if you're handy and can come up with the logo and a design, that's a cool $85 in total for you
had some time tonight, and I want the weekend free for one of the other contests here so I started working. this marks exactly an hour of work/email checking/forum browsing . I'm going to bed though Feedback appreciated!
My other entry : Feedback appreciated. Let me know if you want to experiment with another colors or different layout styles. Thank you.
Sorry, forgot to reply. This is definitely better, but it's still not what I'm looking for... The address box should be all but invisible in the page design, so that new visitors are forced to look for it, and for the submit button. Also, don't be afraid to use up every last inch of available space and fill with advertisements. If you have a look at www.mariogold.com you'll see it has 2 300x250 squares, 2 160x600 vertical leaderboards, 2 468x60 banners, 2 sets of Google link units and it still has room to fit in the google search box, address input box, topsites and a fair amount of text, plus the picture of Mario... Yes, it's very busy, but you need to pay attention to find the address box, and while many people dislike the template this is modified from, it gets a quite good CTR with my visitors...
Sorry Will, I really haven't been drinking enough coffee lately It's much the same feedback as the other template. The colors seem to clash with each other, and the address box and submit button is just far too visible. Make the address box all but invisible, and let it fall over the bottom of the page so they have to go hunting for it. Maybe put a Google search box where you'd normally expect to see the address box, so that it gets accidental searches... Empty space is just a place someone didn't bother to put an ad that could be earning them money as far as I'm concerned. Proxy sites aren't about content, it's about profit, and every ad shown means more of that...
