Google finished my pr5 dream, "a destroyed directory"

    Hi my friends.
I am the owner of acotm.com , it is a general and totally free directory (do not collect any reciprocal link) I really dream about a pr5 because i never get it.Domain alive since 2005.(via archive.org) and i am using it as a directory around 2 years.I make some link exchanges but never spam, or some extra seo.I obey google TOS totally.

I look up pr predict (iwebtool , zeytech) for some fun but generally they say i have lots of links, iam indexed and i will get a pr6. I started a blog on the directory and write some content.I look the directory everyday and everyday approve some link.Site is updated generally. So with the update, i see a PR 0 and dissapointed.I am planning turn it to a paid directory with pr5.

Please give me some idea, where i made wrong and how can i fix it?

(i disabled link submit, because people still thinks it is a pr4.It is done after pr0)

It may be manually manipulated to show PR0 on the homepage.

Mikey, my friend, i lost whole site.I have pr4 and pr3 subpages. Now all of them is pr0.I think this is a update and it will change, i wait for 2 weeks but still i have pr0.I have around 7 site but the most important is acotm.I like it, its my baby. But now, i am curious about the end.I think i have no choice.Google still index me, do not ban etc.Show google ads on site. But google gives (or i get) a pr0 to the site.

This is not common and i think, yes this can be manual. But why google does this, site is really small.Google can ban or do not think about it.Generally my other sites protect their pr.

Thanks for your time and effort for reply me.I am really really bad.(

Not sure if im looking too far into something thats not there, but possibly meaning that a site can still infact have its pr (the non visible pr) but somehow they can make it show 0 for obvious reasons

Is that daft? April fools messing more with my head or what? :)

did you take time to edit those description users submitted? If not, that could lead google to think you r just "another" typical directory.

Dont get disheartened Malatya. Google is suffering from 'Directoryphobia' for the last couple of weeks. Nobody knows what will happen when, why & where...

All we can do pray for a cure and we believe that God is bringing a cure soon.

You think my ZL is a real PR0?

There is a paid directory owned by a DP member. SERP penalty in google and PR0 on the toolbar. It shows PR7 in the google directory listing - which is not manipulated like the toolbar.

I was thinked that user submitted descriptions can be good for google seo. But maybe i have to disable the user side description and keyword. Maybe users spam and google thinks i do this. Thanks for clue

I hope too my friend, i want to believe this.

Thanks dude, maybe i have something around this.

Told you..we need a new authority ranking method for directories other than PageRank.

Let's encourage the BR ( Bidilicious Rank ), VR ( Value-For-Buck Rank ), DR ( Directory Rate ), and other concepts to continue develop those ranking methods and maybe more.

Malatya, don't be dissapointed. Your directory will still be a good resource after all.

    Thanks,

tbh i think we need to move as far away from ratings as possible
let the submitters make their own mind from doing a little research on a directory

The ultimate rating should be how well a directory ranks for the targetted keyword (brings traffic and relevent quality link).

    visible PR is manipulated nowadays.

sorry to hear about the directory, but dont lose hope it might become a pr5 again, google does mess up a lot so nothing new there. My directory was a pr 0 for a bit and then it picked up its pr again.

yeah...but if you got penalized and you will not even rank for your own directory name...what you are saying could be a little difficult :)

If the directory is penalized (serps penalty not pr) then the directory links are simply worthless. The directory can even be considered a bad neighborhood when it is penalized.

Getting a PR5 is getting harder and harder lately.
Google is becoming very picky with the PR. And I don't believe prays will help much...
