Major changes to BST and DP.

Well, I finally found out some bad points on being a new mod, you get selected for being the bearer of bad news and this time I drew the short straw so bear in mind I am only passing along this info. Don't shoot the messenger.

First off, sig link sales will not be accepted and signatures will all be nofollow.

In an effort to give the BST section some credibility there will a fee structure for posting implemented. The exact details of the fee structure have not been determined as of yet.

Finally, due to the amount of duplicate accounts DP will be a paid forum. Again, the final price has not been determined but more than likely will be $50.00/year.

All the changes will be occuring on May 1, 2008 giving you enough time to make any necessary arrangements that you feel you need.

 

Wow, talk about bad timing, please no more PMs, the changes will be real.

and changes have been a long time comming.

We are also planning on totally restucturing the BST forums and this will be implemented as soon as the structure is determined.

 

I play by the rules and all April Fools jokes must be over by noon and as it is almost noon here I fess up.
My apologies go out to those I PMed stating it was true and especially to Blogmaster as he was really looking forward to this, but alas, there are no changes comming, at least not yet.

I opened up this thread, but before you go posting "I knew it" look deep down inside, I'm sure you'll find a little part of you that was a bit worried.

I wasn't worried, I was rather pleased after initially reading it. Sure, $50.00 isn't exactly the cheapest. But it would be enough to weed out those just looking to make a quick buck... it seems to be a problem within that section.

 

You had me fooled, however I don't feel that that was a wise use of your moderation powers.... Just my opinion....

actually the idea to make BST forums listing paid is not that bad and I am sure many would be happy to see such a change, but the $50 membership per year fee is what made the joke to be pretty obvious

anyway, lets hope everyone's heart survived the reading
