Hey, I'm wondering how important the out bound links in your website is for SEO purposes. Especially with google and other major engines like yahoo and so on. Has any one personally owned a site with no out bound links then added some quality ones to get a big difference? Thanks for the answers in advanced.
I think it may be beneficial if they are related to your site content. Google may see it as relevance.
I think outbound links helps your site for site relevancy because anchor text in outbound links mostly get ranks on SERP.
Could help a little. But it cold hurt you if you have a lot of outbound links to sites google has penalized
Just wrote about this on my blog. Outbound links apart from giving relevancy to your content will not help you in improving your rankings. That said, linking out to spam sites and bad neighborhood sites will send your rankings the other way.
whether it helps SEO or not, you should share the link love every now and then, why should a site link to you if your not going to pass on the favour? theres more to worry about then just search engines.
They'll help - but they'll help the pages/sites your'e linking to instead of your own pages/sites. The only exception to this obviously is if you're linking to other pages within the same Web site (which you should be doing anyway).
I tried it on one of my sites.. Linking to the "authority" site and without. Also, with nofollow. It appears that having a link to the authority in my niche helped my site. And with no follow, it went back down. I now keep the link to the authority site.
Linking to quality sites is under rated in the seo world. After linking to a higher authority sites for some keywords, I climbed a couple spots. Search engines especially Google, love when sites in the same niche share information. It can help out a lot of done right. Although it probably wouldn't do much if your in a competitive niche like myspace, or something similar.
