New Adsense Feature - Referral Text Links

Check out your Adsense Account , Referrals section.

Now we can use text links to promote Firefox, Adsense, Adwords ...

How do you feel about this new feature, are you planning to use it on you sites?

To me, it seems the links are a bit long and for example, I can't find a good placement for such a long link on my two sites.

Finally, these images where really to big.

I find a spot but is it allowed to write "For best view get " _ADLINK_?

What they should do is work on making those Adsense buttons of theirs less tragic looking. You'd think Google could come with with more attractive graphics than those ugly things.

Worth noting:

- you can still only place one link per product per page (its either a text link OR a button)
- they are only available in English to this point
- there are only four options for the links which limits the ability of publishers to use them within an article contextually. It'd still be possible if you're willing to use one of the four phrases they've chosen in a sentence.

I'm not sure I'll use them much as I find the most effective way to get results from an affiliate program (which is what this really is) is to deep link within content to a product. I guess some will attempt to use these phrases in this way.

Note that as said above, the text links are ONLY available currently in English and only when you select English (US). Works fine for me but I really would like some guidelines / advice as to where I am allowed to put:

or

LINE 1: Add Google search, SpellCheck and Autofill to your web browser,
LINE 2: Get Firefox with Google Toolbar for better browsing <-- Referral Link

A nice option... still wish you could set the anchor text yourself, but at least it's a huge step in the right direction.

That's good, I like when there are changes, no matter how small... I spotted a mistake in one of the referrals, Adwords, one sentence reads : "Bring targeted traffic traffic to your site with Google AdWords" there's twice the word traffic.

By the way as I posted previously, I would like to put text before and after the adsense referral text lines, so I decided to email google themselves:

I notice this morning that you have now introduced referral text links
options to the growing list of ad formats. This is a great thing as far
as I am concerned and I plan to introduce them to my site. I have however
one question:

Am I allowed to use the following example as a text module at the bottom
of my page(s):

or

Do you consider this technique as 'drawing attention' to the
link/referral? If so, is this really a bad thing in this case?

Secondly, would I be allowed to use a Firefox stock image alongside the
text link, thus almost turning it into a banner?

The helpful and prompt reply I had is as follows:

Thank you for your email. The proposed text you supplied would be
acceptable to display alongside your referral buttons/text links. However,
please be aware that the referral button/text link code may not be
modified in any way.

Also, while publishers are permitted to endorse or recommend the products
they refer, they are not permitted to encourage clicks on or draw
unnatural attention to the referral buttons on their site.

More specifically, it's acceptable to use language such as "I use AdSense
and recommend it to monetise your website." However, publishers should not
use language such as "Click here," "Visit these links to support our
site," or other similar language. For more information, review the AdSense
Program Policies: https://www.google.com/adsense/policies .

Finally, you may display an image alongside your referral link, provided
that it does not draw undue attention to your link, and that it complies

Thanks for the tip I had not noticed these. I'm going to try it out on a site and see how it works. Historically the referral program has not worked well for me at all, maybe I will have better luck with these links.
