Interesting topic. I look forward to reading what people are running. In about 2 months or so I will be building a new system. I do not want to spend too much money, but I will have quite a bit to work with. So if anyone has any favorite items, please let me know that too, I already have a 22 inch monitor, good enough video card and light scribe DVD. One thing for sure that I need to pick up is 1tb of hard drive. 1tb seems to be almost low these days, but I have wanted a tb for soooo long. Also plan on 4 gigs of ram. But that is about all I have come up with so far.
You can get Blu-ray and hd dvd combo players for pc for around $200 I would get one but I dont have an HD video card... yet
Is that a writer? I was talking about a decent writer being around £200+ ($400+) The combos are not that bad.
Yeah, but who wants a burner? Blu-ray blank discs are $20 a pop :O They would make a nice back up though, at 50gb, just imagine how long it would take to write 50gb since they only write at like 4x right now.
50gigs would probably take a day or two lol Id like a burner because i have access to all the HD cams and gadgets at uni. Film some HD blue-ray porn
Yeah I am thinking about $1000 at the most but would like to be under that. I have not even played crysis yet. Must be a pretty intense game.
Here's what I'm going to build very soon... Looks good, except get a solid brand for your power supply, its the backbone of your system, anything goes wrong with it, and everything in your system can go pop.
my case is yes, the antec 900 http://www.hardware.info/images/news/antec_900_overview_goed.jpg Oh yeah I have water cooling too....
I fell in love with the Antec 900 case as soon as I saw it, if I ever get round to building my own PC ill be using it. I love the fact the PSU is mounted at the bottom
Yeah, it is pretty sweet lol I should take a pic, since it is water cooled with the bigwater 760i by Thermaltake (mounted at the bottom)
