Does Exact Match overide Broad Match?
Say I have [tennis shoes] and tennis shoes (exact + broad) in an Ad Group and somebody types in Tennis Shoes, will this trigger my exact match keyword everytime, or does Google look for something such CTR & MAX BID to determine which one to choose?
What if it's a single keyword - example [widgets] and widgets? I have some keywords on both match type and I'd like to think that if they search for my keyword exactly (nothing else) it will always trigger my exact match type keyword - which then enables me to get a feeling, from looking at the Broad Match impressions & clicks & conversions, whether it's worth deleting/pausing the broad match version or not. |

The keyword with the highest quality score (thew real quality score, not the simple one presented to AdWords users) will get the impression, match type does not matter.

Many thanks GFC - it's good to know as it now means if I have 2 of the same keywords, but one is broad and one is exact .. whenever the broad gets a click - I can look at my StatCounter logs and find out what the other words entered around it were.
At first I thought the impressions would be spread around, but now I know that isn't the case, which is great. |

yup
exact match always overrides broad and phrase and its in this order below.
exact, phrase, and broad. so for example phrase would come before broad, but honestly should get rid of anything like that |

Yea Exact is better. The quality score should also be better. There are so many long tail phrases with broad match
|

Match type has zero influence on the quality score.

Only a keyword that is matched exactly has it's QS altered in anyway.
