After a few threads about this and a good discussion in a thread i lost somewhere, here is the final result: *** Hello XXXX, Thank you for your response. AdSense publishers are permitted to click on the link unit topics on their web pages, provided that they do not click on any Google ads on the resulting page. Clicking on the ads themselves is prohibited, as it has the potential to inflate advertiser costs. However, you may still prefer not to click on the link unit topics that appear on your site, as clicking on these links has the potential to inaccurately inflate impressions and affect your reporting metrics. *** Happy clicking guys. pixads
Better not to click on Adsense ads, whether it is ad units or link units. I can not call it taking risks , It is called "Suicide"
Link units require 2 click before you get paid. The first click takes you to a page of paid ads, so clicking the link unit on your own site is fine as long as you don't click any ads on the page you are taken to. I don't see why anyone would want the link units though, as a visitor has to click through twice for you to get paid.
Even with that email I have trained myself too well to click on an google ad, even when I am not on my site.
I used to think the same thing until I gave them a good go and created channels to check how they did against banner and tower ads - the link units outperform everything else in terms of clicks and money earned by 300%. CTR on the link ads is phenomenal.
