I do have a question regarding hosting. Does it really affect the ranking or search engine visibility if you host in another country. Because right now our server is hosting in Australia and our targeted Customer is in US. “A site MUST be hosted at a server located in the country that you are targeting for optimal results. A website hosted in Philippines or Australia will show up in SERP’s for those respective countries but not in US. Google filters the results as per the server location. Better to move site to the host located in US if targeting local marketâ€. Is this statement true? Thanks in advance
No, our website is www.kukuding.com but it is hosted in Australia. An SEO guy says that our website wont appear on US google because we are hosted in Australia. Only in australia that our website will rank high in google search because we are hosted there. Is this true?
My dear friend It is necessary to host your server in the same location where you want to target the visitors. There is better to host in australia only. Second this is that it's not compulsory to have same tld of a country its ok if you have tld with .com, .net or .org but important is the location of you server. Cool Mate and Enjoy your day
It also helps if you have a directory listing in the country-specific Yahoo. My site has a .com domain and is hosted in the US, but ever since I got a Yahoo directory listing in my country's Yahoo, I've seen much more traffic from my country. Now, a Yahoo directory listing isn't cheap, US$300 per year and the only utility that I have experienced is an improved Yahoo ranking and more traffic from the country-specific Google. IMHO, Yahoo is the only directory left which can help a site's ranking. I bought a listing in the business.com directory and some other "authority" directories, and feel that all that money has gone down the drain. I also got listed in hundreds of free directories by using a directory submission service, but that didn't help my site's rankings. I started getting listings a month before Google's directory crackdown started. Hope that helps.

So If Iam hosted in the country that Iam targeting in but still my site went low in ranking in google.com from page one and now it is below the 500 page rank.
I agree.. this would affect on the down/uploading content.. faster page loading will make visitors happy, longer page loading will make visitors gone..
