i posted this in the proxy thread, but i thought i'd bring it over here as it's own topic so that i could try and keep all the feedback together... i've taken an existing phproxy already modded with curl and then done a fair bit of additional work. cleaned up some issues with the original code, a few parser improvements, improved cookie handling, proper redirection support, client side caching, geoip redirection, and most importantly, the myspace compatibility plugin... i've still got a few things to implement like server side caching, sub-domain randomizer, improved hotlinking protection, some further performance enhancements and other stuff, but i'd like to get some feedback on how it's looking with myspace especially... i've got all the basics working with myspace for messaging, bulletins and comments, but i still need to have a look at the friend updates box and i haven't done videos (bandwidth reasons). if you want to have a look at it's up at http://demo.concealedinternet.com and i'd welcome any feedback... thanks site specific plugins yet to be coded... youtube facebook
glad you like i've been putting off taking this public for a few weeks now, but i figured that it was getting to a point that i really need more external feedback. i'd welcome any suggestions on features that i should look at integrating in to the script, or specific sites that need compatibility plugins that are popular...
i have considered it, although i figured that i'd wait and see how long it took to come up in the thead before openly discussing it i know that the 'modded phproxy' thing has and still is being done on this forum before, quite poorly by some and incredibly well by others (lets not get in to specifics in this thread. it's been done to death elsewhere) , but i think there may still be a place for this script to carve out it's own little niche if there is enough interest...
Hi all, I'll be doing an early release of this script within the next 12 hours or so. As I'm still adding features to make this an even greater script, the first 5 early adopters will get it for $79 for a single server unlimited domain licence. I have selected members to receive review copies, so if you don't get a message with an offer you've missed out sorry. Check out the demo in the first post to see the MySpace compatibility in action, and either post in the thread or PM me with any questions. PM me with the subject SOLD if you'd like to claim one of the discounted copies...
I've got another demo of this up at http://www.hypercloak.com if anyone wants to have a look. - Improved the MySpace compatibility, with fixed 'approve comments' buttons and fixed editing of top friends in addition to all the existing fixes... - YouTube compatibility... - Some core script improvements, to fix inherent problems with phproxy's original design and improve overall performance...
yeah it's coming along nicely... my users have been asking to be able to edit their top friends for a long time, and the performance improvements make opening pages a lot faster. phproxy is a great script, but a little bit of creative thinking makes it even better
I'm giving this a full scale test tonight and throwing a couple of thousand visitors at a site running this script. If it all looks stable then I should be able to consider a proper release if anyone is interested... Would be looking to discount the first few copies pretty heavily to get a few people using it (maybe $49 a server ??) http://www.hypercloak.com is up as a live site now, so please don't mind the ads if your having a look. I'll set up a proper demo site without ads again in the morning...
